More Money-Saving Ideas for Your Wedding

Getting married can be expensive, and many people overlook a number of simple ways that you can save money while still having the wedding of your dreams. Whether your parents will be paying for the ceremony and reception or you and your partner will be footing the bill, saving money on what can be a very expensive enterprise will certainly help to make paying for everything much easier. Here are a few easy ways that you can reduce the cost of your wedding while not having to skimp on the quality so that you can still have the dream wedding that you've always wanted.

One of the first things that you can do to reduce the cost of your wedding is to keep an eye on the guest list. Large weddings cost more money, both for the ceremony and the reception. Keep in mind that there can be a lot of little costs that add up in regards to inviting more people to your wedding, and that by not inviting your third cousin twice-removed that you haven't seen since grade school you will be able to save a few cents on invitations, placeholders, catering, and a number of other guest-related costs. Invite whoever you want, but try and keep the list contained to those who will likely actually show up.

Another way to save money is to take advantage of some of the large bridal expos that bridal companies tend to have once or twice per year. They are designed to show off the new dresses that are up for sale, and also tend to feature some of the company's older dresses at great discounts. Not only can you get a great deal on wedding dresses, tuxedoes, and wedding party accessories, but many of these expos also feature drawings where if you win then the bridal company will pay for your entire wedding. While you shouldn't plan on definitely winning, make sure that you at least enter the drawing because a chance of getting your wedding for free is better than nothing at all.

Many people schedule their weddings for weekends in the spring or summer. You can usually save quite a bit of money by having your wedding during the fall or winter or choosing a weekday or Sunday for your wedding service. Shop around for the best rates on reserving a church or bridal hall as well as a reception area, finding the location that's best for your dream wedding while getting the best rate that you can because of when you schedule it.

You should also make sure that you don't underestimate the power of the internet when shopping for wedding supplies. There are a number of places online where you can get the same invitations and other supplies as your local wedding outlet for a fraction of the cost, and you may even be able to find designs that you like even better than what local companies may offer. In addition, you can save money by creating a wedding website and using this as your wedding invites! Shop around so that you can find the best price for your wedding supplies so that you can have the wedding that you want without a huge price tag.
