How to Organize Your Wedding From the Get-Go

You are getting married. This is going to be the most fantastic time of your life. Your wedding day is going to be the happiest day you've ever imagined - but the wedding of your dreams often depend on the choices that you make in the wedding planning stage. Lots of couples get stressed out planning a wedding - simply because they aren't organized. Getting organized, and staying that way, is the best way to have a stress free wedding.

First of all, get a wedding planner. No, you don't need a person to plan for you; there are many "printed" wedding planners available that you can purchase from many different stores. In addition, there are many online tools available that can be used as a guide to help you with your wedding plan. With these wedding planner resources, you'll have lists of things to do, a time line to follow, and tips and tricks for getting your wedding planned quickly and easily.

Next, you want to sit down with your other half and discuss the fact that there is a lot to do in planning the wedding, but no need to stress about it. Don't try to do it all yourself, no matter how much you want to or how organized you are. The best thing to do is sit down with your fiancé and discuss the chores that you'll have to deal with for the wedding. Make a list of the big things that you are each responsible for; then, set deadlines for yourself and for your fiancé, and make sure that you write down on a calendar what these deadlines are.

When you begin to do your wedding plan, it doesn't matter how much time is left until the wedding. You should take the weeks and months that are left and divide them up. Give yourself small tasks to do for each week and month. And never set a deadline for something huge on one day. For instance, when it comes to the flowers, give yourself a series of deadlines. Start with "Talk about flowers", then, a few days later, write down "look at photos of flowers" and continue with "meet with flower designers". Keep giving yourself small-step deadlines, until you are able to have "complete flower order" on your calendar. One of the biggest mistakes that many couples make is to try to plan things without leaving themselves times to plan. Each of the things in your wedding can be planned out in this way, with small steps until completion. It works quite well and will make your life much easier.

Don't forget that the more help you have, the better. Right from the start, as soon as you have decided on your attendants, you can give them tasks to do and set deadlines for them as well. Remember that your family and your fiancé's family can also be given tasks.

With the right organization from the start, you will be able to take advantage of a stress free wedding planning time - and it will make your wedding even more precious!
